The A2F Prison Project team is comprised of legal experts, formerly incarcerated individuals & religious ministers, publicists, educators, advocates, researchers, and volunteers who collectively bring together a myriad of experiences and disciplines.
Haazim Amirali
[ Project Coordinator ]
Haazim Amirali is completing his law degree at the University of California, Berkeley Law School, where he leads the Post-Conviction Advocacy Pro-Bono Project, having previously served as a John Gardner Fellow on Community Legal Aid’s Re-Entry Team and as a Legal-Policy Assistant on the ACLU of Northern California’s Criminal Justice Team.
Imam El Ameen

Imam El Ameen combines subject-matter experience, as someone who has spent decades in prison, with community and spiritual leadership as a studied Imam and counselor who is active within Muslim communities across Chicagoland and beyond.
Ahmed Rehab
[ Executive Director]
Ahmed Rehab is a national civil rights activist and social entrepreneur who believes in systemizing strategic solutions to nagging problems facing minority communities via sustainable institution-building.
Heena Musabji, Esq.
[ Project Lead Attorney ]
Heena Musabji is the Legal Director at CAIR-Chicago. She leads the civil rights legal team to seek justice for those who face religious discrimination. Heena is co-founder of Pro Bono Network (PBN), a legal aid nonprofit organization that brings attorneys to those in dire need of civil legal assistance.
Noah Halpern, Esq.
[ Project Attorney ]
Noah Halpern is a Staff Attorney at CAIR-Chicago. Noah graduated from Washington University in St. Louis Law School in 2022. He most recently spent three years at Land of Lincoln Legal Aid representing clients at risk of losing their homes via eviction or foreclosure
Shana Nissan, Esq.

Shana Nissan is a Staff Attorney at CAIR-Chicago. Shana provides legal representation and advocacy on civil rights issues impacting Muslims in the Greater Chicagoland area.
Hafsa Haidar, MS
[ Project Publicist ]
Hafsa Haider is the Communications Director at CAIR-Chicago. She studied Anthropology and Diversity & Global Studies from Florida Atlantic University. Passionate about representing diverse cultures and advocating for marginalized communities, Hafsa focuses on elevating voices through impactful storytelling.
Abdel Noreldin, MD
[ Religious Ministry ]
Dr. Abdel Noureldin is a spiritual adviser and prison chaplain with A2F. By trade, Dr. Noreldine is a physician who specializes in family medicine and emergency medicine, bringing four decades of medical expertise to patient care.
Shagufta Syeda, LLM
[ Project Legal Associate]
Shagufta Syeda joined as CAIR-Chicago’s Legal Associate after most recently serving as a law clerk with CAIR-Chicago. She is a recent graduate from UCLA School of Law where she completed her LL.M. and specialized in Human Rights Law with a Pro Bono Distinction.

Ahmed Abdel Aziz is a CPS teacher at a city charter school where he leads a student initiative for wellness and growth sponsored by actor Matthew McConaughey. He assists with the Mosque Partnership Program at A2F.

Dean Syed is a full-time associate of CAIR-Chicago and a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with plans to start law school after completing a year in community service. He assists with the Mosque Partnership Program at A2F.
