The A2F Partner Program connects Illinois Mosques with Illinois Prisons in a “sister program,” granting both a systemic opportunity for prison populations to volunteer as educators, and local Muslim communities a systemic opportunity to connect and support the most vulnerable among us as per our faith teachings.

PARTNER PROGRAM

WHAT ARE THE KEY ASPECTS OF THE MOSQUE PARTNERSHIP PLAN? 

RECOGNITION: Recognizing Muslims as a part of the congregation and Jamat  

OUTREACH: Creating a Prison Outreach Team Led by a Coordinator Designated by Leadership. The main goal of the prison outreach team would be to help develop a volunteer base that will travel to their partner facility and ensure Jummah happens on Fridays and Talim Services are happening weekly. 

SUPPORT: The Mosque Partner would need an annual budget for the following items: Eid Meals, Volunteer Expenses, Islamic Items (Qur'ans, Islamic Literature, Prayer Timetable Forms, Prayer Rugs, Religious Headgear), and Janaza 

MENTORSHIP: Partnering an Individual in the Community with an Incarcerated Muslim at the Masjid’s Partner Prison. Mentorship can occur in the following ways: communications via tablet, writing to one another, etc.  

WHAT DOES YOUR TIER OF PARTNERSHIP REPRESENT? 

GOLD: As a GOLD-tier sponsored Masjid, you will be responsible for supporting 2 prisons in the key aspects listed above (volunteers, finance, and mentorship).  

SILVER: As a SILVER-tier sponsored Masjid, you will be responsible for supporting 1 prison in the key aspects listed above (volunteers, finance, and mentorship). 

BRONZE: As a BRONZE-tier sponsored Masjid, you will be responsible for EITHER working with another Masjid to support a prison in the key aspects listed above (volunteers, finance, and mentorship) OR supporting one prison on your own in a limited manner (e.g. exclusively providing financial support to a partner prison or exclusively providing a dedicated volunteer base)
